We are super excited to be part of this new school where we are building an Innovative Learning Environment so we can touch futures. Ormiston Primary School will reflect the latest concepts of design in education as it seeks to provide an innovative learning environment to serve the rapidly growing Flat Bush community.

The key competencies will form the foundation of teaching and learning. Our school will challenge traditional views of education with staff using excellent pedagogy to create effective learning opportunities for all students.

OrmPS: touching futures on PhotoPeach

The community will be encouraged to take an active part in the life of the school as strong community links form a supportive environment in which learners grow.

See the Photopeach slideshow for images which capture the progress of the build.

A special feature of our school will be the incorporation of a deaf provision in partnership with the Kelston Deaf Education Centre. We were joined by students from the Papatoetoe East Deaf provision and their teachers and it was a very special chance for us to meet some of our learners for next year and for our young people to see the site in this embryonic phase of construction. The lovely folks from Arrow Construction did a marvellous job taking us on an interactive tour and provided the learners with a morning tea- very generous of them.

It is incredibly fascinating to watch this building go up in front of our eyes each day from our temporary home at Ormison Senior College. We will take possession of the keys in January and all is going according to plan.
