The team of Learning Coaches in LH1 and LH3 are super talented and dedicated to providing #oresome learning experiences for our Year 2-4 learners.

They have high expectations for positive learning behaviour and ensure that learners have heaps of choice and voice in their learning through-out the day.

Bev Aerenga
Bev Aerenga Learning Coach - LH3
Bev completed a Bachelor of Education (Primary Pathway) at the Auckland College of Education in 2003. Prior to this she had studied at Excel School of Performing arts with a Diploma of Performance in Drama.

Bev has taught at Manurewa West Primary School and Manurewa Intermediate School. In the past 2 years Bev has been a team leader and an acting deputy principal at Royal Oak Intermediate School. It was during her time as a leader that Bev completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Leadership and Management at Unitec.

Bev is passionate about kids. Her learners are at the forefront of all the decisions she makes as an Educator. She is reflective about her practice as a teacher. She thoroughly enjoys being a Learning Coach in LH3. Bev is also humbled at being assigned the Connected leader position here at Ormiston. This role will see Bev making strong connections between the Ormiston community and school. She has two sons who are both 6 years old -one is adopted. She has a huge immediate family who support everything she does and are the reason why she has been able to accomplish all her goals. Bev thinks she can sing but her family tells her otherwise!

Natasha Barber
Natasha BarberLearning Coach - LH3
Tash completed her Bachelor of Education in 2014. In addition to her degree in Education, Tash also hold a Teacher’s Certificate in Dance, whereby she has taught dance at local academies for the past 7 years. Tash completed her first year registration at Sunnyhills Primary in a year two class. In 2016 she begun her journey as part of the Ormiston primary School team! In December 2016 Tash graduated with her Fully Registered Teachers certificate. She is now working as a Learning Coach for year 3 & learners in LH3.
Tash loves to engage in the arts, sports and is involved in multiple extra curricular activities such as leading the Ormiston Netball team. Tash also enjoys The Art. This year she is running our Arts programme at Ormiston Primary School. Tash believes these activities add another avenue to expanding the learners knowledge, confidence and learning capabilities and compliment the philosophy guiding her teaching practice, that if a child cannot learn in the way we teach, then we must teach in a way the child can learn. Tash truly values the input and support of family/whanau, friends and the wider community and encourages their input.
In her spare time Tash enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as shopping and having fun exploring and trying new things
Michael Davidson
Michael DavidsonLearning Coach - LH3
Michael completed a Bachelor of Education in 2007 at the University of Victoria in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. He has also completed the Mind Lab’s Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Learning (Digital and Collaborative Learning) in 2015.

Michael has previously worked and volunteered at schools on five continents, most recently at Pakuranga Heights School. A Level 2 Google Certified Educator, Michael has lots of experience teaching with GAFE and with learner-directed learning. He is also the founding member of MakerEdNZ, a group dedicated to bringing maker spaces to all children in New Zealand.

Michael joined the Ormiston family in October 2016 and has enjoyed every second of his time here supporting learning in LH1, LH2 and LH3.

When not working, Michael enjoys running, building with Lego, reading, watching sports from his native Canada and spending time with the people he cares about.

John Dyer
John DyerLearning Coach - LH1
John began his teaching career in England in 1999, after completing a BA Ed (Honours) degree. He has taught in country and city schools including outback Australia in 2003. John moved and began teaching in New Zealand in 2006. He has taught learners in mainstream and specialist curriculums from Year 0-8 and has lead curriculum teams in Maths, The Arts and Physical Education.

John is a proud and hardworking learning coach in LH2 who is known for leading immersive learning opportunities, particularly in the iExplore learning block. He is passionate about school life and the development of learners and has ensured many of our foundation learners contributed to our school gardens and competitions. He currently leads the ‘Positive Behaviour for Learning’ team and coordinates the learning & resourcing in our school library ‘Te Manawa’.

John lives in the Ormiston Community with his lovely wife, four great children and 2 dogs. He enjoys running and has completed a number of marathons and IronMan events.

Lana Kiss
Lana KissLearning Coach - LH3
Lana completed her Bachelor of Education at Auckland University of Technology. During this time she was also teaching the Flute for The Auckland Community Learning Center at Auckland Normal Intermediate School.

Lana went and taught English in South Korea for two and half years and then worked at Glenbrae School. She started working at Ormiston Primary this year and is excited to be here.

Lana is passionate about her learners and always puts her learners needs first. She believes in being highly reflective to ensure the best learning experiences are provided, and so that she continues to grow as a teacher.

Priscilla Lava-kula
Priscilla Lava-kulaLearning Coach - LH1
Priscilla studied and graduated with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) through the University of Auckland taught at Manukau Institute of Technology. Before that, she worked at a number of places in the Customer Service industry including a two week teaching programme at Middlemore Hospital School.

Previously, Priscilla taught at Point England School for eleven years. During her time there, she taught in a single cell classroom and in a Innovative Learning Environment 1:1 environment as well as having many other roles.

At Ormiston, Priscilla has been fortunate enough to take on the role of Sports Coordinator. Her goal is to get as many learners as possible to participate in and represent the school in a number of different sports at Inter-Zone and within school competitions. Priscilla is excited about teaching new learners and working alongside a great staff.

In her spare time, Priscilla loves to spend it with her family especially her handsome son Darius. She also likes to read series novels and work out at the local gym. Priscilla also attends Life Church in Manukau.

Radha Moopanar
Radha MoopanarLearning Coach - LH1
Radha completed her Diploma in Teaching in 1985, her Higher Diploma in Teaching in 1995, her Bachelor of Education in 2006 and is currently studying for her Graduate Diploma in TESOL. She is excited to be part of Ormiston Primary School where she can offer all of her skills, strengths and knowledge to all the learners that she coaches.

Prior to joining Ormiston Primary School, Radha worked at Tamaki Intermediate School where she was a team leader and at Glenbrae Primary School where she was an Associate teacher, a tutor teacher and an e-learning lead teacher.

Radha enjoys learning new skills and loves the sense of adventure that stepping outside the square can bring.

When not working or studying, Radha enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Talia Morgan
Talia MorganLearning Coach - LH1
Talia completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences, majoring in Psychology in 2012 and also a Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences (Psychology) in 2013, at the Auckland University of Technology.. She then completed a Graduate Certificate in Primary Teaching at Victoria University of Wellington in 2015. Prior to working at Ormiston Primary, Talia worked in Youth Mental Health. Talia brings with her an extensive background in working with children with behavioural, physical, learning and mental health needs and disabilities. She has a strong passion for supporting and working with these learners that she feels are often misunderstood or forgotten.

In her spare time, Talia enjoys dancing, wakeboarding and spending time with her family and kittens. This year she is leading our Dance Club and the competitive Jump Jam team. Talia is excited to be joining the Ormiston Primary School team and looks forward to helping learners engage in meaningful learning experiences and work towards their goals, as she too continues her own learning.
