Sports

Physical Education and Health will be an integral part of our learning at OrmPS.

There will be multiple opportunities each week for skills based PE sessions and break time sports activities. We endeavour to provide opportunities for all learners to be involved a range of sports, both social and competitive, to nurture enjoyment, confidence and skill.

We are exploring partnerships with outside agencies such as Counties Manukau Sport to enhance our programme.

“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”  ~ JFK

Health will be integrated into our iExplore and iExperience learning blocks as appropriate, either as opt in sessions or mandatory immersion opportunities.

Mr. Hattie, a champion underwater hockey player and Mrs. Remington, a sports enthusiast, will be leading our co-curricular activities including iActive (our everyday, whole school fitness programme).  More opportunities for sport will be offered as our school grows.

We promote good health and participation in sporting activities to develop key competencies as well as perseverance, healthy competition and athletic ability.
