Reeves Farm

We went on a special learning adventure to a working Dairy Farm in Glenbrook on Tuesday 9 May 2015, as part of our studies around CONNECTING to our environment, people and places.  While there we got to:

• observe and learn about farm animals and farm equipment
• watch cows being milked / observe the dairy cow rotator / discuss the milking and calving process and how they keep the milk clean and cows healthy
• drench calves
• observe and learn about a silage

LH1 has some Farm Fun! on PhotoPeach It was great to see of our learners wearing their gumboots!  We learned a lot and had a great time.  We hope to visit Farmer Reeves and his team again next year.  Thanks to Dairy NZ and Rosie the Cow for the learning goodie bags, transport and 3D printed cows- what a fantastic learning adventure!
