As part of our Being #oresome Program @OrmPS Mr Dyer has been leading a group of talented young people- our OrmPS Learner Leaders. They have written a little about who they are and what they do:
Who are we?
Leon, Justin V, Aleena and Jasmine
What do us learner leaders do??
We discuss plans to help younger learners become efficient learners and manage their time wisely. We are also role models for the next generation of learners.
What we do to improve the school?
We are being to support Mrs Doidge in the reception area so Learning Coaches get a break. We also support younger learners in their learning and participate in learning projects across the school. In addition, we are leaders in our Being #oresome groups which are vertical groups of learners in our school who learn about our PB4L approach together. For example, last week we learned about ‘Curious Playing’ together.
What do our Being #oresome groups do?
We learn about our different vision principles and how we can use them as a school. Our #Oresome groups discuss and come up with ideas of how we can use PB4L when we’re learning, moving, meeting, playing, eating and well being.
What does it mean to be #oresome?
It encourages us to know that we all are learning coaches and learners. Being #Oresome encourages us to be leaders and it helps us remember that you can be a role model and a leader without being told and even if people don’t think you are.
When do we have them?
We have them on Friday every two weeks. Each learner is in a PB4L group with a few learning coaches in their group. This helps us to collaborate with other people and share our knowledge with them too.
